Back in the day |
These pics are the automotive version of looking at your high school yearbook and checking out the "do" you were sportin'...and goin' -- "What was I thinking???".
The "back" story was that K&N had gone through some changes, that deal was no more...and we had to put something on the car to cover up the scratches and peeled paint from removing the K&N graphics. We didn't have time (or money...LOL) to have the car re-painted and I never considered myself a world-class graphics designer...plus, there was a bunch of peeled paint in odd spots. Sometimes, you just gotta do what you gotta do!
The other "back" story was that these pictures were taken on September 10, 2001. You may or may not remember that particular date, but I'm sure you remember the day that followed. My friend Victor (who took these) and I were about eleventy-million miles from nowhere on I-10 in West Texas when all hell broke loose elsewhere in the country. It was the longest trip home ever, running from one little truckstop to another, just trying to figure out if the world was ending.
